Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri and Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Vijay today held a meeting with representatives of various Shia associations to carry out the smooth and peaceful observation of the Muhram.
Apart from Dig, Kashmir, Rajiv Pandey, the meeting was attended by DC Srinagar Akshay Labaro, Commissioner SMC Faz Lul Hasib, SSP Srinagar and Civil Administration and other police officials.
Representatives of various associations included the President, all Jammu and Kashmir Association Darul Jawari, President, all Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharia Darul Mustafa Budgam, Chairman, all Jammu and Ki Anjuman Shaian Yusuf Abad Budgam and Comments Committee Committee Guru Bazar Srinagar.
During the meeting, community leaders were urged to demonstrate responsible behavior, determine strict time for public convenience and traffic management and to increase the strength of volunteers to mourn during processions.
Div Com insisted on close coordination between the administration and the leaders of the association to ensure the smooth and peaceful adherence to Muharram.
To protect the mourning from the heat wave, the Divcom directed the Commissioner SMC to deploy water sprinkler vehicles during the procession.
