Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the 1975 emergency exhibition at the Convention Center in Jammu on Wednesday.
In a post on X, LG’s office wrote, “Inaugurated the 1975 emergency exhibition at the Convention Center, Jammu.”
“In that most dark period in India’s democratic history, the soul of the country was crushed, civil freedom was attacked, constitutional security measures were violated and dreams of nation building were buried,” was written in the post.
LG Sinha said, “Recalling torture events to honor the victims of Emergency, who made many sacrifices to protect constitutional values, we should resolve to deepen the foundations of our democracy and work with full dedication to our nation’s more success,” LG Sinha said.
He said, “I consider Emergency as the most inhuman work in Indian democratic history and today the observation of ‘Samvidan Hatya Diwas’ is also an opportunity to re -confirm the intensive reflection and democratic values and commitment to constitutional morality,” he said.
