ACB arrested Geology and Mining Officer in Ganderbal, accepting a bribe of ₹ 10,000

A written complaint was received to the Bureau of Jammu and Kashmir Anti -Corruption Corruption, alleging bribery demand by an officer, such as GH Mustafa (DH), in -charge of the region, Genderball of the Department of Geology and Mining.

According to a statement issued here, the complainant, who owns a JCB machine, said that he had approached the concerned officer to guide the legal formalities to lift the soil from a particular land. Instead of providing appropriate legal assistance, the said officer allegedly asked the complainant to avoid long formalities and demanded a bribe of 20,000 to give informal permission to lift the soil for three days. He demanded ₹ 10,000 as payment to move forward.

While working on the complaint, ACB made a prudent verification through a specified officer. The verification report confirmed the allegations and confirmed that the public servant had really demanded illegal satisfaction.

Based on the complaint and verification report, a case was registered at the FIR number 10/2025 police station ACB Srinagar under Section 7 of the Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended). Subsequently, a trap team was formed, and a successful trap was laid.

During the trap operation, the accused public servant was caught red hand, demanding and accepting the complainant and 10,000. He was immediately arrested on the spot.

Further investigation in the case is going on.
