Two to paste foreign flags in SGR, third accused on run: Police

Srinagar, 23 June (KDC): Srinagar police said on Monday that it has detained two persons and identified a third accused regarding pasting foreign flags in Balhama region, in which the authorities have described as a clear effort to incite public peace and emotions.

In a statement released late Monday evening, the police said the flag of the United States and Israel was kept in the area during the night hours. “Acting on reliable input, including visual evidence indicating the establishment of the flag of the United States and Israel, Srinagar Police began a quick investigation using various techniques and ground -level verification,” the statement said.

Police said 6 to 7 suspects were identified and questioned. The statement said, “Continuous interrogation confirmed the participation of three persons.”

The accused have been identified as Mohsin Ali Dar, son of Ali Mohammed of Balhama; Bilal Ahmed Dar, son of Mohammad Yusuf Dar of Dar Mohalla Balhama; And Amir Ali Dar, son of Manzoor Hussain of Khazir Mohalla Balhama.

The statement said, “Two accused have been detained, while strong efforts are underway to catch the third.”

The police described the Act as a deliberate attempt to “incite public sentiment, harass communal harmony and promote anti -social stories.” Legal action has been initiated under the relevant provisions of the law.

The statement said, “Srinagar Police is committed to maintaining peace and public system in the district.” (KDC)
