Iran not bowing down: Farooq Abdullah on US attacks

Web Desk, 22/06/2025

Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah on Sunday expressed disappointment on the silence of Muslim countries over the US attacks against Iran and the ongoing struggle between Israel and Iran. Abdullah warned that if the Muslim world does not wake up, they might have to face equal consequences.

Abdullah told ANI, “I am disappointed that the Muslim world is silent. Today, Iran is in this condition, but tomorrow, it will be the one that will be destroyed by the US. If they don’t wake up today, they should wait for their turn,” Abdullah told ANI.

He further said that he believes that Iran will not leave his ambitions despite the attacks. Attracting similarities with Karbala, the leader of the National Conference said Iran “will not bow”.

“If they think Iran will give up its ambition, they are in a misconception. Iran remembers Karbala, and thinks that it is the second Karbala. They will cut their neck, but they will bend down,” Abdullah told Annie.

Abdullah further said, “… They want a change of governance there (in Iran)-Will things be better after a change of governance? America and Israel have a long-running approach that they will not let Iran make nuclear weapons, but if they feel that Iran will leave its ambition, they are in a misunderstanding …”
