CS Union Secretary discovers ways to promote JK's skill ecosystem with MSDE

Srinagar, June 19: Atal Dullu, Chief Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir, today met the Union Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Atul Kumar Tiwari, to discuss strategies to increase the initiative of skill development and entrepreneurship in the Union region.

Regional Director, V Babu, MSDE on the occasion; Director, National Council for Vocational Education and Training, Colonel Gujan Chaudhary; Secretary SDD, Kumar Rajiv Ranjan; Director, Employment, other concerned officials and Shahzad Alam.

Producer discussions were held on taking advantage of new central schemes and strengthening existing programs to create more strong skills ecosystems in J&K.

The Union Secretary provided a comprehensive observation of the newly launched centrally launched centrally launched centrally launched scheme for the purpose of modernization to the Industrial Training Institutes across the country. He said that this innovative plan would work on a hub and serve as a central hub with recognized centers with excellence (coes). He encouraged UT to actively participate in the scheme and presented a detailed proposal to exploit its benefits for modernization of ITIs in the area.

The Union Secretary highlighted great scope to enhance its engagement in other important centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) for J&K, such as Pradhan Mantri Skill Development Scheme (PMKVY), skills for industrial price increase and stronger (strong) and skill acquisition and skill acquisition and skills and knowledge awareness. He reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Ministry to provide full assistance to J&K in maximizing the upliftment of these important programs.

The Chief Secretary underlined the significant requirement of a holistic vision for skill development in the UT to tide on the problem of unemployment, on his behalf. He emphasized the importance of integrating education with entrepreneurship to connect skill acquisition with permanent livelihood opportunities and promote a dynamic and self -sufficient workforce. He said that efforts would also be made to strengthen convergence between various centrally sponsored schemes to ensure more and more effective results for Jammu -Kashmir.

The major components discussed in the meeting include preference to submit detailed proposals for modernization of J&K ITIS under the new centrally sponsored scheme.

In addition, it was decided that J&K would establish a joint coordination mechanism to ensure efficient implementation and rigorous monitoring of all skill development initiatives in the government and MSDE UT. This collaborative effort between the government and the Union Ministry for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is expected to increase skill development, create new jobs and promote an entrepreneurial spirit among the youth of J&K in the coming times.
