An 80 -year -old woman was killed and five others were injured when an Alto car got out of the road and fell into a canal near Shopian’s Padpavan area on Sunday.
According to KNS, the vehicle was on the way from Rajouri to Babnagari, when the driver lost control near Padpvan, causing the car to fall into the canal.
The deceased has been identified as Noor Begum, wife of late Roshan Deen, resident of Pangri in Rajouri.
The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, two of them later sent to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for special treatment.
The police have taken cognizance of the incident and started further investigation. (KNS)
