Baramulla celebrates ‘World Cycle Day’ with enthusiastic chakra rally

Baramulla, June 01: In an enthusiastic festival of World Cycle Day, J&K Sports Council organized a vibrant Chakra rally today in collaboration with Baramulla Sports Association, which had widespread participation from the youth of the district.

The rally started at the indoor stadium Baramullah and concluded at Carripa Park, in which bicycles rode to spread awareness about fitness and sustainable life through the main roads of the city.

The rally aims to promote fit India movement and encourage cycling as a regular and environmentally friendly exercise. Young cyclists enthusiastically participated, highlighted the importance of physical activity for a healthy and more active lifestyle.

District Information Officer Baramulla, Ifatikhar Naseem, saw the occasion as the chief guest, while President Baramulla Sports Association, Omar Kakro participated as a guest of honor. Other dignitaries present included Shokat Ahmed Shah, Manager Sports Council and I/C General Bipin Rawat.

Speaking on the occasion, dignitaries appreciated the initiative and stressed many benefits of cycling not only as a fitness activity, but also as a permanent mode of transport that contributes to environmental welfare. He urged the youth to help cycling and create a healthy society as part of their routine.

Participation and refreshment certificates were distributed among the cyclists in the culmination of the rally, which was involved in a cheerful environment. The organizers also encouraged the public to inspect ‘Sunday Cycling’ to make a consistent habit.
