Minister of Health and Medical Education, Minister of Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena iToo today made a comprehensive visit to Kokarnag constituency, during which he reviewed the situation of various health facilities and infrastructure of educational institutions in the area along with work.
MLA Kokernag, Choudhary Zafar Ali Khatana; MLA Zainpora, Shokat Hussain Gani; Director Social Welfare Kashmir, Director School Education Kashmir, Director College Jammu -Kashmir, Director Family Welfare and Vaccination, Director Health Service, Director Ayush Jammu, Kashmir, ADC Anantnag, Program Officer ICDS Anantnag, SDM Kokranag and other senior officials of Health, Social Welfare and Education Departments.
During the journey, Minister Sekena inspected Deputy District Hospital Cokeranag, PHC Laranu, PHC Gadol, PHC Wandewelgam, GDC Larnu and evaluated the functioning of these health facilities and educational institutions with the first hand.
In SDH Cokeranag, Minister Sakna took a detailed phase of hospital and assessed the facilities available to the general public. He inspected various departments, interacted with employees and patients and took feedback from them about the services available in convenience.
Talking to the public on the occasion, Minister Sekena assured him that under the government led by Omar Abdullah, major upgrades will be done in the healthcare infrastructure of Jammu and Kashmir soon. He further assured him that important upgradation such as oxygen plant, blood bank and dialysis facilities such as improving medical services in SDH Cokeranag in the coming months will be done to improve and ensure access to better health facilities for the local population within their Victinity.
Visiting PHC Larnu, PHC Gadole and PHC Wandevelgam, Minister Sakeena made a minimum evaluation of health facilities at these places. He interacted with local health workers and discussed strategies with them and officials to improve health care and quality in these areas.
Later, the minister also inspected the Government Degree College (GDC) Laranu and comprehensive the state’s infrastructure, faculty strength, as well as the status of educational facilities available to students. He took a detailed round of college campus and also interacted with students along with faculty and responded to the quality education provided to them.
During this broad tour, Minister Sekena also interacted with public delegations and individuals at various places.
Talking to him, he reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthen healthcare and educational infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. “Quality for our people, reaching the quality health services services and quality education, is the major motto of the government led by Omar Abdullah” said Sakna.
The minister assured the public that their concerns raised during this visit would be immediately addressed to ensure better welfare, welfare and progress of the people in Kokranag constituency.
