CS JK seeks fortnightly updates about the completion of highways

Chief Secretary, Atal Dulu, today held a detailed meeting with NHAI, NHIDCL, Beacon and Project Sampark and sought reports from executed agencies to present a fortnightly report on both the physical and financial progress registered in each project.

The meeting was attended by ACS, forests; Principal Secretary, Finance and APD; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir/Jammu; Secretary, R&B; Deputy Commissioners; PWD Chief Engineer, Representatives of NHAI, BRO, NHIDCL and other concerned officials.

The meeting reviewed the progress so far in the completion of various national highway projects in the length and width of the UT.

During the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that these projects are being monitored at the highest level for effective implementation. He asked the PWD and Biweckli to submit a weekly report in their office for regular monitoring of these important projects for timely completion.

He asked these agencies to ensure that those responsible for the delay should also be indicated in these reports as someone’s part will be seriously seen and action would be initiated against non-demonstrations.

Dulloo asked to work in dual innings wherever necessary for all possible assistance on the district and divisional administration part.

The Chief Secretary directed the Mining Department to ensure that short -term permits for mining of materials to meet these highways are specially used for this purpose. He asked to mark all the vehicles carrying such material with RFID tag, so that their monitoring becomes easy and efficient to curb its use.

The Chief Secretary had a wise evaluation of progress, so Shubham away. He inquired about the current landscape of the physical progress registered in each of them along with the possible date of completion of work at each stage of these projects.

Principal Secretary, Finance, Shailendra Kumar, while speaking at the meeting, influenced the deputy commissioners concerned to assist the blocks in the identification of the blocks for regular supply of mining materials required for the completion of these important road projects.

He asked these agencies to deploy more men and machinery in these sites and add more and more working hours to complete the time limit of the set. He said that only regular monitoring of projects would be ready for their completion on time.

Some of the NHAI reviewed projects consisted of various stages of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway, working on the Superts working on the Ring Road Jammu, Ramban-Banihal Khand of NH-44, Marog-Digdol and Digdol-Kuni Mechanallah Tanals, Makarkot-Shar Bibi Viadcts and Ring Road Leo.

NHIDCL road projects included Zojila tunnel, Jammu-Ekanur Road, Chenni-Sudhamahdev Road, Goha-Khalani, Khalani-Khalani highway and Singhpur-Velu tunnel.

Srinagar-Bermulla-Udy Highway, Rafiabad-Kupwara-Tangdhar Highway, Surkot-Narbal Highway, Khanbal-Baltal Highway, Akhanur-Poonch Highway, Shopian-Surkot, Rajouri-Surmanmadi-Surkot, Rajouri-Surmanmadi-Sukot, Rajouri-Surmanmadi-Surkot, Rajoun-Surkot, Rajoun-Surkot, Rajoun-Surkot, Rajouri-Surkot, Rajoun-Surkot, Rajouri-Surkot, Rajouri-Surkot, Rajouri-Baltal Highway, Akhanur-Baltal Highway, Surkot-Narbal Highway, Surkot-Baltal Highway, Rajori-Surman-Surkot, for discussion in projects executed by BRO under Project Beacon and Sampark.

The evaluated R&B projects included construction of flyover Sanat Nagar, Srinagar-Badgam-Palvama-Kulgam-Kazigund (NH-444) road, construction of by-pass for three main cities of Pulwama, Kulgam and Shopian and currently going into different parts in different parts.
