The Power Development Department (PDD) said on Monday that it had restored more than 50 percent of the electricity, as heavy rains in many areas of the Kashmir Valley were running with damaged transmission lines and electric poles in many areas of the Kashmir Valley late last evening.
An official informed the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that 33kV and 11kV transmission lines had caused widespread losses. “Electric poles have also suffered heavy damage due to winds.”
He said that there was heavy damage in many areas in Kulgam, Pulwama, Srinagar and parts of North Kashmir. “We are trying to restore electricity in all affected areas,” he said.
He said that so far, he has restored more than 50 percent of the electricity and it is expected that by this evening 100 percent electricity will be restored- (KNO)
