As India and Pakistan reach an understanding for the end of enmity, the daily life in Akhnoor, Jammu, is going back on the track as people come to normal position and go about their business, stopping the struggle after the launch of Operation Sindoor.
Bhupendra Singh, who lives in Akhnoor for work, said, “The situation in Akhnoor remains normal after the declaration of ceasefire. The shops are opening, and people are returning to their work.”
Earlier, the Indian Army took a human initiative by organizing a free medical camp in Narayan village of Akhanur sector near the border.
The purpose of the camp was to provide quality health services services to the residents of the border areas.
Many local people, including children, women and elderly citizens, came to the camp. The army medical team conducted a health check -up and distributed free medicines to the needy people.
Border camps were also set up to provide food and education for the villagers. Local people expressed their opinion on the facilities being provided.
A resident, Praveen Sharma, said, “For the last seven to eight days, we have been forced to take shelter in camps. Every five to seven years, we have to leave our homes and run away from across the border due to shelling. We urge the government to provide permanent solutions.
While some border residents have been allocated plots in safe areas, not all have received them. Previously, the shelling was limited to the 5-km limit, but now shells are on land of more than 15 km. We demand bunkers to ensure the safety of all. Administration, especially our SDMs, play an important role in timely withdrawal, and our Transport Minister provided vehicles to help people move efficiently. ,
