“Government will provide compensation after completion of damage evaluation”: CM Omar Abdullah

Web Desk, 13/05/2025

After meeting the residents affected by the border from across the border on Tuesday at Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, it was said that the government would provide compensation to the people after the completion of damage evaluation.

“By the grace of God, we have not lost any life here, but of course, there is a loss of public property like homes, shops and Madrasa. The district collector is with us. They will assess the loss. The evaluation will be completed by today or tomorrow, and then the government is divided by bunk, but we will work for a long time.

Earlier in the day, JK CM Omar Abdullah visited Pakistani shell-affected areas in Kupwara.

“Taunted the shell-affected areas of Tangdhar and met families who have shown remarkable courage amid deep pain. Their flexibility is inspiring. The government stands shoulder to shoulder with them, their pain will not pay attention, and will take every possible step that they will help to re-create their lives with dignity.”

JK CM also inspected community bunkers in Tangdh and ensured the construction of more secure places to protect and support our people living in the border areas.

He said, “Community bunkers were inspected in Tangadh. These structures are a lifeline during the moments of crisis. We will ensure the construction of more secure places for the protection and support of our people living in the border areas.”

CM Abdullah also visited the Deputy District Hospital in Kupwara, where people injured in Pakistan were undergoing treatment a few days ago.

Pakistan’s huge border shelling caused damage to homes and religious places in J-K K Kupwara, Uri and Poonach. Local people vowed to stand with the Indian Army despite the attacks.

Meanwhile, after the end of enmity after India and Pakistan, one understood, life is gradually returning to normal state in Jammu and Kashmir.

However, local residents of a border village in Samba district expressed apprehension of Pakistan Army on Monday night after the blasts and the splitors killed one of the houses.

Earlier on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the forces were given complete freedom to wipe the terrorists.

In his address to the nation, PM modi said, “Every terror organization now knows’ ki hamari behano, betiyon ke maathe se sindoor hatane ka anjaam kya hota hai.”

PM Modi said that the Indian Air Force, Army Navy, Border Security Force and India’s paramilitary forces are consistently alert.

“After the surgical strike and airstrike, now Operation Sindoor is India’s policy against terrorism. Operation Sindoor has created a new benchmark in our fight against terrorism and established a new parameter and new general,” he said.

Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 to attack several terrorist sites in Pakistan and in Pakistan-Kashmir-Kashmir, in vengeance for a deadly attack in Pahgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in Pakistan-Kashmir-Kashmir, in which 26 tourists were killed.

In addition to eliminating more than 100 terrorists, the strike targeted 11 aerial status inside Pakistan and caused significant damage to its military capabilities. With the emphasis on reducing the number of civic casualties, air, land and sea operations were done with calibrated restraint. (AI)
