India, Pakistan DGMOS firing, discusses issues related to the stagnation of military action; To consider the measures for reduction in contingent

Web Desk, 13/05/2025

The Director General of Military Operations (DGMOS) of India and Pakistan held important talks at 5 pm on Monday and continued issues related to continuing commitment that both sides should not fire a single shot or start any aggressive action.

It also agreed that the two sides consider immediate measures to ensure a decrease in troops from borders and further areas.

The Indian Army said, “Issues related to continuing commitment that both sides should not fire a shot or start any aggressive and disqualified action against each other. It also agreed that both sides consider immediate measures to ensure lack of troops from borders and further areas,” the Indian Army said.

DGMO-level talks between the two countries, which were initially slated to be around the afternoon on Monday, were later set for the evening. The two countries on Saturday reached an understanding by Pakistan DGMO after a call for their Indian counterpart Lt Gen Rajiv Gai, on an understanding of firing and military action stagnation,

Lieutenant General Gai, who interacted with the media at a joint press conference on Sunday, said his Pakistan counterpart proposed during a conversation on Saturday that “we stop hostility”.

“My communication with Pak DGMO was held tomorrow (Saturday) at 15:35 pm and as a result, firing and air infiltration from both sides from May 10 at 17:00 was abolished, on May 10, he proposed that we would decide to talk about 12:00 pm on May 12 to move forward to advance hostility.

He said, “However, hopefully, expected, it took only a few hours for the Pakistan Army to violate these arrangements across the border and the Line of Control (LoC), followed by the drone infiltration in the early hours last night and today (today). These violations were strongly responded to.”

Lieutenant General Gai said his counterpart was informed about the violation through a hotline message. India made its intention clear that if it is repeated, it would respond to the same “terrible”, for which the Chief of the Army has given full authority to the army commanders.

India launched Operation Sindor on 7 May and attacked nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan, in response to a disgusting terrorist attack in Pahgam in Jammu and Kashmir last month, killing 26 people. (AI)
