Congress leader Sachin Pilot said on Sunday that the recent terrorist attack on citizens in Pahalgam was an attack on the nation, and that the country is fully prepared to “answer” Pakistan.
Speaking to ANI, Sachin Pilot said, “The incident of terrorist attack on innocent, unarmed citizens in Pahgam is not just a terrorist attack – this is an attack on the country. India is ready to respond to Pakistan. Terrorism.”
He said, “Whatever steps the Center needs to take, it should be taken without any hesitation. When such attacks are carried out, a strong and effective answer should be followed,” he said.
Pilot also accused Pakistan of destabilizing India and attempting to sow internal divisions.
He said, “Pakistan is trying to divide our country and weaken our unity. We should answer in such a way that such incidents stop again,” he said.
Meanwhile, in the midst of tension between India and Pakistan, air chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, sources told ANI.
It met PM Modi at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence in the national capital on Saturday after Tripathi of Navy chief Admiral Dinesh.
The meeting between the Chief of the Air Force and Prime Minister Modi presided over a meeting by Prime Minister Modi, which was attended by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan and three service heads. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was also present in the meeting.
A day after a terrorist attack on tourists in Pahalgam, a meeting of the Cabinet Committee (CCS) was held, killing 26 people.
The government has confirmed India’s national resolution to crush terrorism. It has been said that the terrorists responsible for the attack and the conspirators behind it will have to face serious punishment.
The government has given the armed forces complete operational freedom to make India’s response mode, goals and timely decisions.
The government called an all-party meeting after the Pahalgam terror attack.
Opposition parties have expressed their full support for any action taken by the government against criminals of terrorist attacks.
In briefing, CCS was brought out from across the border of the terrorist attack.
It was noted that the attack came in view of its stable progress towards successful holding and economic development and development of elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
The government has announced several measures, including inserting the Indus Water Treaty into Abanence, which is to send a strong message to Pakistan to support the cross-limit terrorism. (AI)
