A Russian disinformation network has made a series of false claims against the British royal family in its ongoing information war with Ukraine.

Among the incorrect accusations made by pro-Kremlin activists is the suggestion circulating on fake news websites that King Charles has sold Highgrove Palace, his royal residence, to Ukrainian President Vladimir Zephyr for £20 million. Lensky.

The bizarre report was first posted in a YouTube video featuring someone claiming to be the real estate agent behind the fictitious sale. However, security experts tell era The character, named Sam Murphy, appears to be artificially generated.

The news was then spread by a fake British media outlet and then by a number of English, French, German and Italian bots on X (formerly Twitter).

A website called The London Crier published an article featuring an interview with Grant Harrold, Charles’ former butler. Among them, Mr Harrold is said to have confirmed that the sale of Highgrove Estate had been completed on February 29 through Mr Zelensky’s wife Olena and that staff at the royal residence had been sacked.

Even an official account of the Russian Embassy posted the fake news to its thousands of followers.

However, Mr Harold, who now works as a royal commentator, told era The stories and interviews on which it claims to be based are entirely fabricated. His spokesman said: “This story is completely false and Grant has made no comment. No interviews have been conducted.”

Kyiv was even forced to publicly refute Highgrove’s story, which had similarities to other baseless attempts to suggest that the Zelensky family benefited financially from the war in Ukraine.

Ukrainian state media reported: “This is false. The British media has no information about Zelensky’s purchase of this mansion, and there has been no official statement on the matter.”

It is the latest in a series of attempts by Russian propaganda to target the British royal family, as stories about the monarchy dominate headlines.
