The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided multiple locations across Delhi in connection with child trafficking. Two newborn babies were rescued from a house in Keshavpuram, exposing the sinister underworld of the baby trade.
According to CBI sources, newborn babies are being traded as commodities in the black market. The CBI is currently interrogating all parties involved, including the woman who sold the child and the buyer himself.
The scope of the operation extends far beyond Delhi’s borders, with the CBI arresting individuals involved in the trafficking of seven to eight children in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Those arrested included a boy from a hospital ward and several other women. According to CBI sources, around 10 children were sold in the past month alone.
The CBI probe has now covered multiple states, with several major hospitals coming under intense scrutiny. Sources said the newborns were sold for a hefty price of Rs 4 to 5 lakh.
