A doctor leading an Alzheimer’s blood test trial discusses the significance of this breakthrough.

Memory clinics across the UK are to start trialling a blood test to see if it can accurately diagnose dementia.

Dr Vanessa Raymont of the University of Oxford is leading a study that will recruit volunteers from more than 50 UK trial sites.

Dr Remont told BBC Breakfast on Thursday (4 April): “We are in a very exciting time in dementia research.

“We now know more about how to manage certain risk factors.”
