GST scam case: Delhi court orders AAP MP Sanjay Singh not to tamper with evidence

Sanjay Singh was also told to submit his passport and inform the court before leaving Delhi-NCR

New Delhi:

A Delhi court today directed AAP leader Sanjay Singh not to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses in the GST “scam” case.

Special Judge Kaveri Baweja ordered Singh’s release from Tihar Central Jail after the Supreme Court granted bail on Tuesday.

The bench also directed Sanjay Singh to submit his passport, inform him of his itinerary before leaving NCR and keep his mobile location open at all times.

During a brief hearing, Sanjay Singh’s lawyer told the court that the politician’s wife would act as surety for the accused in the case.

“I (Singh) am a member of Parliament. There is no flight risk,” the lawyer told the court.

The judge directed the accused to submit a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and a surety of the same amount.
