London’s Oxford Circus tube station evacuated during rush hour due to ‘fire alarm’

London’s Oxford Circus was partially closed due to a “fire alarm” and passengers were evacuated during the morning rush hour.

TfL Access wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that stations on the Central Line were “partially closed”.

A spokesman added: “The station is closed to the Central Line while we respond to the fire alarm. London Buses accepts valid tickets. Trains are calling as usual on the Bakerloo and Victoria lines.”

Oxford Circus is London’s eighth busiest underground station, with 4.1 million passengers using the station each year.
