Prime Minister Modi spoke on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin today, congratulating the Russian leader on his re-election and reiterating that dialogue and diplomacy are the way to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
During their phone conversation, the two leaders reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional and global issues, officials said, adding that they agreed to further strengthen the “India-Russia special and privileged strategic partnership.”
Prime Minister Modi congratulated President Putin on his re-election and conveyed his best wishes for peace, progress and prosperity to the friendly Russian people.
The leaders of the two countries agreed to work together to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Officials said that while discussing the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated India’s consistent position of supporting dialogue and diplomacy as the way forward.
The leaders of the two countries agreed to maintain contact.
