Former England cricket team spinner Graeme Swann praised the Indian batsmen for their stellar performance on day two of the fifth Test in Dharamshala and took a swipe at the Ben Stokes-led team. Subtle sarcasm. Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma slammed centuries, providing the perfect base for Sarfaraz Khan and Devdutt Padikkal to inflict more misery on the visitors. In his comments, Swann said the Indian batsmen were playing their own brand of ‘Bazball’ and they performed ‘very, very well’ in the five-match Test series.

“India have come out and are playing their own game of ‘Bazball’ against England – and they’ve done it very, very well,” Swann said while commentating on the second day of the Test match.

Ravichandran Ashwin took 5 wickets in his landmark 100th Test as India beat them by an innings and 64 runs in the fifth Test on Saturday England won the series 4-1.

England’s James Anderson had taken 700 Test wickets earlier in the day, becoming only the third bowler to achieve the feat, but the visitors were never in the running.

After India posted a staggering 477 at the picturesque Dharamshala Stadium, overlooking the snow-capped Himalayas, off-spinner Ashwin helped the team take 5-77 in three days England were defeated by 195 runs.

He shook up England’s top and middle order after the tourists started the match trailing by 259 runs and lost 5 wickets for 103 at lunch.

After the match, Ashwin said he was “very satisfied” with his performance.

“Win Tests and take wickets, what more can a bowler ask for?” he added.
