On the occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day, thousands of supporters of Maratha quota activist Manoj Jarange gathered in parts of Mumbai on Friday to stage massive protests demanding reservation in government jobs and education for the Maratha community.
Addressing the agitators at Shivaji Chowk in Vashi area of neighboring Navi Mumbai, Maratha reservation leader Jarange said they will not leave the protest until their demands are met.
Jarange said that his demand is that family members should also get benefits and 57 lakh records have been received. Certificates have been distributed to 37 lakh people.
On the other hand, Maharashtra Minister Deepak Kesarkar said that the demands of the workers have been accepted. Earlier, Jarange held a meeting with a government delegation.
