Jesse Ventura has called the president Donald Trump “A coward who evaded the draft” and suggested he might run for Minnesota governor again amid a voter surge Minneapolis immigration enforcement raids.

Ventura served as Minnesota governor from 1999 to 2003, before deciding not to run for re-election. He is a Vietnam War veteran and former Navy SEAL. If not for his public service, some might know him for his wrestling career as Jesse “The Body” Ventura in WWE.

Ventura had some critical words for Trump on Thursday during a visit to his alma mater, Roosevelt High School, because he was medically exempt from the Vietnam War draft. Diagnosed as bone spurs.

“He was a coward who dodged draft, and when he served his country, he did what all the rich white boys do. I’m not a rich white boy… We have to go… Will he tell me what courage is?” Ventura told local media fox 9.

“Despite repeated warnings to stop, the crowd continued hostilities and attacks. For the safety of law enforcement officers and the public, police conducted targeted crowd control. No tear gas was used,” the agency said.

Ventura visited the high school Thursday to show his support.

“As a graduate of Roosevelt High School and a former governor of Minnesota, I am proud of Roosevelt High School and how they defended what is called America and freedom. Freedom is not arresting people without a warrant,” Ventura told Fox 9. “We have a system here — it’s called the Constitution, and we have a political party, the Republican Party, and they don’t seem to want to abide by the Constitution.”

Ventura later hinted he might run for governor again. The state’s next gubernatorial election will be held in November, Gov. Tim Waltz announced he will not seek re-election.

“You know what? Maybe it’s time for Jesse. I only did one semester. I’m still owed a second semester,” Ventura said.

Ventura won the governorship in 1998 on the ticket of the centrist Reform Party. The former governor supports Walz’s re-election in 2022 but has been critical of both Republicans and Democrats.

Speaking about Goode’s fatal shooting, Ventura said: “Any time a life is lost needlessly, it’s a tragedy. What happened yesterday didn’t have to happen.”
