Tesco relaunches free fruit scheme for millions of customers

British main supermarket It has been announced that it will be given away for free fruit arrive shopper for the next two weeks.

From December 30 to January 13, the children and their families Tesco Receive a free apple at checkout.

800 and above to enjoy discounts Large Tesco stores across the country, And customers who use the chain’s “click and collect” service at its 119 large stores will receive free apples.

Tesco said the apples on offer will be grown in the UK by six UK suppliers in a bid to provide fruit to more children.

It’s part of the supermarket chain’s “5 a Day Sale” campaign, which is expected to give away more than 3 million apples over two weeks.

It aims to continue Tesco’s work to expand its fruit and vegetable program in schools. Last school year, approximately 140,000 children received more than 10 million servings of fruit and vegetables.

Tesco UK CEO Ashwin Prasad said: “We are committed to making healthy choices easier, faster and more valuable for our customers.

“With new offers, club card challenges, free fruit for kids and fresh online recipes, we’re helping kids get more of their five a day and bringing the joy of healthy eating to the entire country.”

It is part of Tesco’s wider strategy to expand access to fruit and vegetables, as government figures show less than one in 10 children and one in five adults eat the recommended five servings of fruit and vegetables a day.

Selected customers will also be invited to earn Clubcard points through challenges to encourage the purchase of fruit and vegetables, legumes, canned products and dried fruit.

Meanwhile, Club Card prices and offers will be available on fruits and vegetables.

The Club Card Challenge will run from January 12th to February 22nd.
