Jaspreet Pal, a 44-year-old cyclist from Upper Sanghetal in Mandi district, was declared the state election icon to encourage youth to exercise their franchise and make voters aware that their votes matter in democracy The value of the region.

On Monday, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Maneesh Garg signed an understanding document on behalf of the state election department and Jaspreet Pal.

Jaspreet Pal is an avid cyclist and professional photographer. In addition, he has also made great contributions to children’s literacy and environmental protection.

While interacting with Jaspreet Pal, the CEO suggested organizing a bicycle relay rally/race across the state to create voter awareness and mass mobilization.

Earlier, while interacting with the media, the CEO said that Jaspreet Pal has so far rowed around 21,000 kilometers in various treacherous terrains, won the Fire Fox Challenge Cycling Championship and ranked in the 2021 MTB Championship second.

The CEO said the aim of attracting Jaspreet is especially to engage the youth in both urban and rural areas of the state to vote and stay healthy.

Elections to four Lok Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh and by-elections to six assembly constituencies falling vacant due to the disqualification of six rebel Congress MLAs will be held on June 1.
