Bengaluru:
Four people were injured in an explosion at a cafe in Bengaluru’s Kundalahalli today, police said. Police are trying to find out what caused the blast at The Rameshwaram Cafe, a popular restaurant in the neighbourhood. A team of anti-terrorism National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reached the cafe.
Police said that three of the injured are employees of the cafe, while the fourth is a customer.
Sources said the police have not ruled out any aspect. A bomb disposal squad and a forensic team are present at the cafe.
Sources said there was no fire after the explosion and it does not appear to be an LPG cylinder blast.
BJP’s Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya said in a post on
“Spoke to Mr. Nagaraj, founder of Rameshwaram Cafe, about the explosion at his restaurant. He told me that the explosion was caused by a bag left by a customer and not by any cylinder explosion. One of his employees has been injured. Appears to be a clear case of bomb blast. Bengaluru demands a clear answer from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah,” Mr Surya said.
Just spoke to Mr. Nagaraj, founder of Rameshwaram Cafe, about the blast at his restaurant.
They told me that the explosion was caused by a bag left by a customer and not by any cylinder explosion. One of his employees has been injured.
This clearly appears to be a bomb case…
