A special court here on Friday sent four students of coaching institutions to judicial custody till March 1. They were accused of raping a NEET candidate of the college. Police withheld the identity of the accused.
The four accused have been produced before the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Court II, which sent them to judicial custody till March 1, POCSO court prosecutor Vijay Kachhawa said on Friday. He said that all four accused, two from Bihar and two from West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh, were preparing for NEET at the coaching academy in Kunhari police station area. He added that the accused were between 18 and 20 years old.
He said the 16-year-old survivor was from Haryana. The Kota City police on Thursday arrested four students in connection with a gang-rape case in Landmark City area after a minor lodged a complaint against them on Tuesday night. The girl was allegedly raped on February 10.
The minor said in her complaint that she had been in contact with another NEET person in the area on social media. According to police, the accused called up his apartment in Landmark City area on some pretext and raped her while the other three accused helped him in the crime. The police filed a gang-rape case under sections of the IPC and POCSO Act and arrested four people after interrogation on Thursday.
