Jammu:

Three laborers were found dead inside a tent in a remote area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Monday, police said.

Balwinder Chand, 28, Sonu Ram, 25, and Anil Chand, 23, were employed by a company building power transmission towers in Chenani area. The three were found dead inside a tent in the hilltop village of Kathir-Gatwal, officials said.

A team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sheikh Tahir Aminas along with a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory visited the spot and took the bodies to Chenani Hospital for autopsy.

“The exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem being conducted by a board of doctors,” DSP Amin told PTI. The officer said that there were no injury marks on the bodies, which suggests that they might have died in their sleep.
