21-year-old man arrested for trying to enter MHA by impersonating government official

A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly trying to impersonate a government official to enter the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), police said on Wednesday.

The accused, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, is being interrogated by security agencies and officials from the counter-terrorism wing and special cell of the Delhi Police, they said.

MHA is located in the northern block of Kartavya path.

The accused was carrying an entry pass, which was issued to Interior Ministry officials, police said, adding that the interrogation will focus on determining where he obtained the pass and the purpose of his visit to the Interior Ministry.

A case has been registered at Kartavya Path police station, they said.
