2 injured in multi-marriage accident on HWY. 401 near Markham Road

Two people were injured after a three-vehicle accident on the WestBound Highway 401 in Scarborough.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers and other emergency employees were called to the highway area near Markham Road just before 8:30 am on Tuesday.

Traffic reporter Kyle Hawking flew on the scene in Chopper 680 and reported that the driver of a sedan was to be evacuated from the vehicle. A tractor-trailer and an SUV were also involved in the accident.

The OPP said two people were rushed to the hospital with minor injuries, but it is not yet known which vehicles they were in.

The police had closed the express lane between the Morningside Avenue and McCove Road, but the area has been reopened for traffic.
