An 18-year-old woman died from an alleged drug overdose after being lured into a “thrill-seeking experience” by her male friend.

The friend took her to an open land in Lucknow’s Tiwariganj and injected her with a mixture of drugs and addictive drugs, police said.

The woman had a private job in Bengaluru and returned to Lucknow on April 3.

The incident occurred when she was leaving her Mahanagar residence on April 7 to board a train to Bengaluru.

ACP (Vibhuti Khand) Anindya Vikram Singh said, “The accused Vivek Maurya, 28, of Barabanki has been arrested. He lives in Mahanagar and is a friend of the victim.”

The ACP added that the BBD police filed an FIR under IPC Section 302 (murder) but during investigation it was converted to IPC Section 304 (manslaughter not amounting to murder).

Police said the girl’s condition worsened after a “cocktail overdose” and the young man became intoxicated.

When he called UP112 seeking help, the police immediately rushed her to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. After conducting an electrocardiogram, doctors declared the girl dead.

Police say the woman’s family fears an “overdose” may have been an intentional murder.

During interrogation, the defendant told police that his “thrill-seeking experiment” had gone wrong. He said the girl called him when she left home and tried to take the addictive drug.

Moria told police that he took her to a friend’s vacant space in Tiwariganj where he mixed the Avi injection. Police said he first injected himself with the drug and then injected it into the girl.

Based on the complaint of the mother of the deceased, the BBD police took the accused into custody, lodged an FIR and then sent the body for post-mortem.

During investigation, the police came to know that the girl had previously lived in a rented house in Vivek in New Hyderabad area of ​​Lucknow with her family. They said Vivek was addicted to drugs and made her take drugs.

Police said the accused immediately became frightened and fled the hospital after learning about the girl’s death. But before doing so, he informed the girl’s family. However, the police arrested Vivek near the Indira Canal.

Police found a syringe and a bag of marijuana in the vacant lot.
