Ukrainian Kich:
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to “blame Kiev” for the Moscow concert hall attack that killed 133 people.
After Putin said the suspect had fled to Ukraine, Zelensky declared: “What happened in Moscow yesterday was obvious: Putin and other scumbags just want to blame someone else.”
“They always have the same approach,” Zelensky added.
President Vladimir Putin said in a televised address early Saturday that the four gunmen arrested in connection with the deadly attack “are heading to Ukraine and, according to preliminary data, there is a window for them on the Ukrainian side to cross the country’s border.”
Kyiv angrily dismissed the Russian leader’s claims, which came more than two years after Moscow invaded Ukraine.
“Instead of engaging with Russian citizens and addressing them, Putin spent a day in silence thinking about how to bring it to Ukraine,” Zelensky said.
“Everything was absolutely predictable.”
The Islamic State group (IS) claimed responsibility for the Moscow attack.
It was the deadliest attack in Russia in nearly two decades and the deadliest in Europe claimed by Islamic State.
Putin made no mention of the group’s claim of responsibility in his speech.
