Dismissing questions about the recent Pentagon’s recent announcement, the Qatari Boeing 747 announced to revise the future Air Force, US President Donald Trump slammed the NBC reporter on Wednesday (local time), who questioned those who questioned them “terrible” and “smart enough”.
Trump accused the reporter of diverting attention from issues such as violence and racist laws in South Africa, during a stressful meeting with South African President Cyril Ramfosa at the White House.
The US president suggested that NBC and Brian Roberts, its original company CEO and chairperson should be investigated for their operation, “insulting the network”.
“What are you talking about? … what are you talking about? You know … you need to get out of here … What to do with Katri Jet … They are giving a jet to the United States Air Force, and this is a great thing … We are talking about many other things, and this NBC is trying to close the subject.
He said, “You should go back to your studio in NBC, as Brian Roberts and people running that place should be investigated. They are very terrible in the way they run that network. And you are an insult. There is no other question to you,” he said.
He defended the Katri gift, saying, “But for you to go to a subject about a jet which was given to the United States Air Force, which is a very good thing. He also gave an investment of USD 5.1 trillion price in addition to Jet.”
According to CNN, citing a spokesperson of a Defense Department, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth accepted Boeing 747 from Qatar, which is expected to be used by President Trump after undergoing extensive amendments for security and mission readiness.
Earlier, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell confirmed the acceptance of the aircraft, saying that the transfer complies with all American laws and rules and noted that the Defense Department will ensure that the aircraft is properly equipped to serve in the transport role, CNN said.
Sharing a post on social media platform Truth social, Trump earlier said that Jet “Not for me!” But “a gift from a nation.”
“Boeing 747 is being given to the United States Air Force/Defense Department, not for me!
According to Hill, the price of the aircraft is estimated at USD $ 400 million, which was introduced by Qatar’s royal family as a gift to the United States. (AI)
