Yesterday, PM Modi for laying foundation stone for 13 projects worth more than Rs 5,127 crore in Arunachal yesterday

Itanagar, 21 September (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Arunachal Pradesh on Monday, who will do the foundation stones of 13 development projects in Itanagar to lay the foundation stones and will address a mega public meeting at Indira Gandhi Park, officials said on Sunday.

A senior official said that various arrangements including beautification of roads, construction of stages, are going in full swing.

Security has been increased in the capital city and outskirts ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit.

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu said in a post on X: “Walking through IG Park, Itanagar, overseeing preparations for the visit of Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi.”

“Arunachal has never seen such a constant attention to a Prime Minister before this, showing real care for our people’s dreams and development. Honorable PM is eager to welcome Modi ji as he inaugurates and lays a foundation for major projects, and a witness to transformational effects that these initiatives will be brought to every corner of Arunachal,” said CM.

The senior official said that Prime Minister Shi Yomi will lay the foundation stone for the Tato-I Hydroelectric Project and a 240-Magawat generation capacity on the Yogep River in the Yomi district.

The total project cost of two hydroelectric projects is Rs 3689 crore (Rs 1750 crore and Rs 1939 crore), and the total annual production capacity will be 1803 million units.

After the commission of two power plants, the state will get a free power of more than Rs 98 crore and every year the local area will be more than Rs 16 crore for the Development Fund Community Development.

He said that PM Modi would inaugurate a state -of -the -art integrated convention center in Tawang almost. The convention center will be built at a cost of Rs 147 crore. In addition to organizing meetings, conferences and exhibitions, the proposed integrated conference center will facilitate livelihood opportunities in tourism, services and handicrafts, the official said.

The Prime Minister 10 infrastructure projects are worth Rs 1,291 crore. He will also hold 10 infrastructure projects worth Rs 1,291 crore.

Infrastructure projects also include the 1,830-Cm Frontier Highway Project and the second phase of the Vibrant Village Program (VVP).

According to the official, the proposed Frontier Highway Project will run parallel to the McMahon Line, from Bamdila in West Kamang district to Vijaynagar in Changlang district.

He said that ambitious highway will promote national security and border will facilitate connectivity.

After the completion of the second phase of VVP, 122 border villages will get All-Vedar Rhodes, 4G Telecom Network and on-Grid electrification.

Of the 122 villages, 67 are located along the Indo-Myanmar border, and 55 are along the Indo-Bhutan border with Arunachal Pradesh.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had approved Rs 2,205 crore for VVP. In addition to the already covered Northern boundary under VVP VVP-I, the International land borders (ILBS) will help in the widespread development of villages located in the blocks ending.

With a total outlay of Rs 6,839 crore, the program will be implemented in selected strategic villages in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh (UT), Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Rajabh, Sre -Frach -Ferch, Sri -Frag -Ferch. West Bengal from FY 2028-29.

The objective of the program is to create better living status and sufficient livelihood opportunities to ensure rich and safe boundaries, controlling the trans-border crime and assimilating the border population with the nation and provoking them as “the eyes and ears of the border guarding force”, is important for internal security.

The Prime Minister will also visit Tripura on Monday.
