Yash Raj Films acquires global distribution rights for Malayalam hit film Premalu

The recently released Malayalam film ‘Premalu’ was well received by the audience and critics and became a hit at the box office. In a major development, Yash Raj Films, one of India’s premier production houses, has acquired global distribution rights for the film.

Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Girish AD, “Premalu” has been garnering attention since its release, captivating the audience with its unique storyline and stellar performances. Yash Raj Films’ acquisition of UK and European distribution rights marks a milestone for the film, becoming the first non-Bollywood romantic comedy to receive recognition on such a scale.

“Premaru” was released on February 9 and immediately received positive reviews from the audience and started to expand its presence in theaters from the next day. In just nine days of release, the film has collected an impressive box office collection of around Rs 27 crore.

The film stars Naslen K Gafoor and Mamitha Baiju and has stars including Sangeeth Prathap, Shyam Shyam Mohan, Akhila Bhargavan, Meenakshi Raveendran, Althaf Salim, Shameer Khan Supported by a talented cast including Shameer Khan, Ranjith Narayan Kurup, AR Rajaganesh, KS Prasad and Mathew. Thomas guest stars. Premalu is produced by Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran under the banner of Bhavana Studios, with music by Vishnu Vijay, cinematography by Ajmal Sabu and editing by Akash Joseph Varghese. With a budget of just Rs 3 crore, the film was released on February 9 to critical acclaim.

The film’s technical staff includes Xavier Richard as production director and Vinod Raveendran as art director. Costume design is by Dhanya Balakrishnan while makeup is by Ronex Xavier.
