Yamaha Motor has expanded its Indian portfolio with the launch of the XSR155 and the unveiling of its first electric vehicles, the Aerox-e and EC-06, as well as the introduction of the new FZ-Rave. The company says that these products mark its entry into new mobility areas and reflect its long-term plan for sustainable transportation in the Indian market.

Itaru Otani, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, said, “The launch of the XSR brand, our new EV models and the FZ-Rev is a decisive step in strengthening our presence and aligning with India’s evolving mobility landscape. With these launches, we are deepening our engagement with riders looking for performance, design and technology, while also responding to the country’s shift towards sustainable transportation.”

Yamaha XSR155

XSR155, priced at Rs 1.50 Lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi starting price: 1,49,990), brings Yamaha’s global modern-retro design language to India. The motorcycle shares its 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with the R15 and MT-15, producing 18.4hp at 10,000rpm and 14.1 Nm at 7,500rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and assist-and-slipper clutch. It also uses the same Deltabox frame, USD front fork and monoshock and weighs 137 kg.

The bike features a round LED headlight and taillight, a 10-litre teardrop fuel tank with Yamaha lettering and a flat single-piece seat. It gets dual-channel ABS and traction control but uses an LCD instead of a TFT display unit. Yamaha offers four colors – Metallic Grey, Vivid Red, Greyish Green Metallic and Metallic Blue – and two accessory packs, Scrambler and Café Racer. Reduces model base MT-15 5,000.

New electric two-wheelers for India

1. Yamaha Aerox-E

Yamaha also announced its first electric two-wheeler for India. The Aerox-E enters the high-performance EV scooter sector with a 9.4kW (peak) motor producing 48Nm of torque, powered by dual detachable 3kWh batteries. It offers Eco, Standard and Power riding modes and includes a boost function for faster acceleration along with a reverse mode.

Yamaha Aerox-E

The certified range of the scooter is 106 km. Its features include LED lighting, a 3D-effect taillight, a color TFT screen with navigation, Wi-Connect app support, an external charging port and a smart key system. Front and rear disc brakes are standard along with single-channel ABS. Yamaha positions the Aerox-e as a premium option for urban riders seeking performance and exclusivity.

2. Yamaha EC-06

The EC-06, developed on the River Indy platform and manufactured at River’s Hoskote facility, is Yamaha’s second EV for India. While mechanically identical to the Indy – with the same 6.7kW peak motor output, 4kWh fixed battery and claimed 90kph top speed – the EC-06 has distinctive styling with boxier bodywork. Yamaha claims that its IDC range is 160 km and it takes about nine hours for a full charge.

Yamaha EC-06

The chassis and feature set closely mirror the Indy, including an LCD display, three riding modes, and reverse assist. The EC-06 offers 24.5 liters of under-seat storage, which is smaller than the Indy’s 43-litre boot, and includes LED lighting, front and rear disc brakes, telematics with a built-in SIM and digital connectivity. Pricing has not been announced yet, but the Indy is expected to be close to the Rs 1.46 lakh mark (ex-showroom Bengaluru).

FZ lineup is expanding

Yamaha has also expanded its FZ lineup with the FZ-Rave, which is priced at Rs 1.17 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The bike is mechanically similar to other FZ and FZ-S models, it uses a 149cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 12.4hp and 13.3 Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox, 136 kg weight, 13-litre fuel tank, 790 mm seat height and 165 mm ground clearance.

Yamaha FZ-Rev

The model features a new LED headlight design, red painted wheels and two paint options – black and red. Standard equipment includes an LCD display, all-LED lighting and single-channel ABS.

Competing with bikes like the Honda Unicorn and Bajaj Pulsar 150, Yamaha has positioned the FZ-Rave as the third most affordable FZ after the FZ Fi and FZ-S Fi V3.0.
