Elon Musk-run X on Monday said it has fixed a bug that caused many posts on the platform to be incorrectly labeled as ‘sensitive media’. According to the company, the vulnerability in its system identified several genuine accounts.

“A bug in our systems caused X to incorrectly label many posts as sensitive media,” the company posted. “We have fixed the underlying issue and are now working on removing the labels from affected posts,” it said.

Musk also said that an “X spam/scam bot accidentally flagged several legitimate accounts” which was being fixed by the company. One follower responded by saying that Musk could also fix the problem of porn bots.

The follower posted, “porn accounts should be flagged and there should be some kind of system where as a user, you can allow these flagged accounts in your settings to follow, repost, or comment on a post. Are/Can’t give.”

Another user commented: “Community notes have also been hijacked. Fix that too”.

Last October, the world’s richest man said that to combat bots, new X users would have to pay $1 a year to post on the platform, although they could read other posts for free.

The company began testing this new program in New Zealand and the Philippines before launching it globally.

X requires new users in New Zealand and the Philippines to pay $1 to create accounts.

“Free to read, but $1/year to write. This is the only way to fight bots without blocking real users,” Musk had posted. “It won’t stop bots completely, but it will make it 1000 times harder to manipulate the platform,” he said.
