The CEO of United Airlines held a press conference with J.D. Vance and others from the Trump administration and called for an end to the government shutdown.
Although he claims he was not picking sides, he decided to press with JD Vance and then ask the Democrats to sign a clean CR to reopen the government.
In other words, the side was clearly chosen!
The Democrats are losing badly!

Uh, really thanks to the professionals – the air traffic controllers, the TSA people. Also, the FAA, people in management.
Uh, they’re working hard. They are keeping the skies safe. They have reduced the delay.
Less than 2% of flights have been delayed so far due to lack of air traffic control, so they have done a pretty good job.
Uh, but it’s putting stress on people. This is not fair to those people.
This is also putting pressure on the economy. You know, in the first few weeks it had no impact on the economy, but as each day passes, the impact starts increasing.
And airlines are a very good real-time indicator of the economy.
And we start to see — still modest, but intense — booking effects, and you see that happening on the economy. We have put the entire economy at risk.
And so, uh, it’s been 30 days, and while I don’t have a position on which partisan side is, uh, and how things should be handled with health care, it’s been 30 days.
I also think now is the time to pass a clean CR, use this as an opportunity to get in a room behind closed doors, and have a hard conversation about the real and concrete issues that the American people want our politicians on both sides of the aisle to resolve.
Uh, but let’s get a clean CR and have that conversation, uh, behind closed doors without any pressure and without putting American workers and the American economy at risk.
