Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday excavated in the opposition, accused of finding new “excuses” to oppose the operation of the army including Operation Sindoor, which was launched on 22 April in response to the Pahgam terror attack.
The Prime Minister spoke during the Operation Sindoor discussion in the Lok Sabha and said that the whole country is “laughing” in the opposition.
PM Modi specifically targeted the Congress and said that opposing the armed forces has been the “old attitude” of the Congress party.
“Terrorists are crying, their masterminds are crying and watching them crying, some people are crying here too. They tried to play a game during a surgical strike; didn’t work. During an airstrikes, they tried to play another game. It did not work either. When Operation Sindoor adopted a new strategy, why did I stop the Bahia?”
PM Modi said, “I have also said earlier that India is ‘Buddha’s land,’ No, Yudh (war). We want prosperity and peace,” PM Modi said, emphasizing that the path of prosperity and peace goes through strength.
Focusing his attack on the Congress on P Chidambaram’s comments, the Prime Minister said that he dare to seek proof that the Pahalgam attackers were from Pakistan.
“Opposing the armed forces, the negativity for the armed forces has been the old attitude of the Congress … draw all the statements of Pakistan and the statements of those who are opposing us here; they are exactly the same with a complete break and a comma … The country is surprised that the Congress has given a clear chit to Pakistan. He said that Pavalgam attacked.”
Chidambaram questioned the government’s story on the attack, suggesting that the terrorists could be “homegron” and ask for evidence that they came from Pakistan. He criticized the government for not giving details about Operation Sindoor.
Earlier in the day, Lok Sabha leader of APOETIS (LOP) and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi criticized the government’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ and referred to the statement of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in Parliament, saying that India showed its boundaries and it was not “political will”.
Addressing the lower house during a debate on Operation Sindoor, the Congress MP said, “Yesterday I saw Rajnath Singh’s speech. I listen very carefully when people speak. He said that Operation Sindoor started at 1.05 am. What he revealed.
