On June 26, 2025, Raksha Minister Rajnath Singh said widely of India’s transitional change in his policy against terrorism in a meeting of the Defense Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), a meeting of Kingdao’s Kingdao’s Defense Ministers, an official said by an official to eliminate the danger for collective security and security from member countries.
The Defense Minister claimed that India introduced Operation Sindoor in response to the heinous terrorist attack in Pahgam, Jammu and Kashmir, exercising its right to defend against terrorism and also carried forward cross -border attacks. “During the Pahalgam terror attack, the victims were shot after working on religious identity. The resistance front, a proxy of Lashkar-e-Tabiba (LET), a terrorist group nominated by the United Nations, claimed responsibility for the attack.
The pattern of Pahalgam attack coincides with the previous terrorist attacks in India. India’s zero tolerance for terrorism was displayed through its actions. This includes our right to defend ourselves against terrorism. We have shown that the sub -stations of terrorism are no longer safe and we will not hesitate to target them, ”he said, as said in the Ministry of Defense.
Addressing the Director of SCO and other prestigious representatives, SCO General Secretary, Director Regional Regional Terrorist Structure (mice), Rajnath Singh said that the biggest challenges facing the region are related to peace, security and trust, increasing radicalism, extremism and terrorism are the root cause of these problems.
“Peace and prosperity cannot co-exist with the spread of weapons of mass destruction in the hands of terrorism and non-state actors and terrorist groups.
Decisive action is required to deal with these challenges. It is necessary that people who sponsor terrorism for their narrow and selfish loops should bear the results. Some countries use cross -border terrorism as a means of policy and provide shelter to terrorists.
There should be no place for such double standards. SCO should not hesitate to criticize such nations, ”Rajnath Singh said.
Rajnath Singh reiterated the need to cross the sponsors of criminals, organizers, financers and condemnable acts of terrorism, in which terrorism across the border is terrorism, accountable and to bring them justice. He said as criminal and unfair, regardless of any work and every task of terrorism, wherever and by whom.
SCO members should condemn this bad unevenly, he said, confirming India’s resolve to fight terrorism in all its forms and expressions.
The Defense Minister called for active steps to prevent the spread of bigotry among the youth, acknowledging the important role of the mechanism of mice in dealing with the challenge. He said, “The joint details of the council of heads of SCOs on fundamentalists who fought fanatics for terrorism, separatism and extremism issued during the chairmanship of India symbolize our shared commitment,” he said.
Rajnath Singh underlined the importance of combating the technology used by terrorists, including drones for cross-border smuggling of weapons and drugs, stating that traditional boundaries are no longer the only obstacle against threats in this mutual world. He insisted that the world faces a complex web of challenges that range from international terrorism and cyber attacks to hybrid war. These threats, he said, he does not respect national borders, and demands integrated response contained in transparency, mutual trust and cooperation.
Highlighting the important role of SCO in the current indefinite geo -political scenario, Rajnath Singh said that member countries contribute about 30 percent of the global GDP and about 40 percent of the world’s population lives in them. He described the construction of a safe, safe and stable area as a collective share, which could contribute to the progress and improvement of people’s lives.
Rajnath Singh said that globalization is losing pace, and it has become difficult to resolve immediate challenges, from maintaining peace and security for the rebuilding of economies after the weakness of multilateral systems. He said that competition among major powers is intense, rapidly being used with trade and technology which is in the form of a tool in geo -political rivalry.
“India believes that improvised multilateralism can help create cooperation to prevent conflict between countries by creating a mechanism for dialogue and cooperation,” he said.
The Defense Minister voiced India’s commitment to increase its connectivity with Central Asia. “Better connectivity not only enhances mutual trade, but also promotes mutual trust. However, in these efforts, it is necessary to maintain the basic principles of SCO charter, especially respecting the sovereignty and regional integrity of the member states,” he said.
Rajnath Singh said that India has been consistently and stable in its policy in support of peace, security and stability in Afghanistan. He calculated immediate priorities in Afghanistan, including providing humanitarian aid to his people and contributing to overall developmental needs. As the largest regional development partner of Afghanistan, India continues to implement the initiative of capacity-making for the Afghan people, the Ministry of Defense said.
The Defense Minister also shared information about how non-traditional security challenges such as epidemic, climate change, food and water security, and related social disruption have no limit and do not affect people’s lives. He stressed that these challenges cannot be addressed without responsible policies and cooperation among the nations. “India’s initiative on alliance for disaster flexible infrastructure is not only promoting disaster flexible infrastructure, but also infrastructure risk management, standard, financing and recovery. It is also an example of how the country is coming together to create and share capabilities to deal with humanitarian support and disaster relief.”
Rajnath Singh said that India’s Sagar vision (safety and growth for all in the region) and Mahasagar (mutual and overall advancement for security and development in regions) are will is the testament to create a favorable environment for development and economic development, security and stability are the most essential components.
He underlined more and more cooperation between SCO members and India’s support for mutual trust, urging him to fulfill people’s aspirations and expectations while collectively dealing with today’s challenges. “We all should be in the lockstap in our effort to strengthen stability and safety in our neighborhood,” he said.
The Defense Minister highlighted that India wanted to create consensus to deal with global challenges on the basis of ‘Forest Earth, Forest Family, One Future’, which is established on its civilized ethics of Vasudhiv Kutumbakam (the world is a family). Mutual understanding and mutual gains should be our guiding principle, he said. (AI)
