only a few days left xmas daythe prophets have given their decision On whether we’ll see a White Christmas this year.

weather office Temperatures are expected to drop after a mild December so far, leading to a cold and cold Christmas week.

Heavy rain is expected across the region due to low pressure UK through Monday, but forecasters say these showers should clear up by the end of the week.

However, while temperatures are predicted to fall by up to 2C in the South West and Scotland, forecasters warned that “there are currently no strong indications for significant or widespread warming.” snowfall” – meaning a White Christmas is unlikely for most people.

weather office “Following a period of unsettled and rainy weather,” Chief Meteorologist Jason Kelly said. SeasonWe are expecting a gradual change towards more settled conditions as high pressure builds over the next week.

“This will bring dry and cold weather for many over the Christmas period, with the risk of frost and fog overnight where skies will remain clear.”

He said that although there is a good chance of rain, it is unlikely to turn into snowfall.

“Although there is a possibility of some rain, especially in eastern and southern areas, it will probably be wintry on higher ground, there are no strong signs of significant or widespread snowfall at the moment,” he said.

“As always, we advise everyone to keep up to date with the latest forecasts and warnings from the Met Office, especially if you are planning to visit over the festive period.”

The weather map shows temperatures remained mild around 10C on Monday and dropped slightly to 8C on Tuesday.

Forecasters are predicting the mercury to drop sharply to 5C on Christmas Eve, with the mercury falling to 3C on Christmas Day.

Britain expected to remain largely dry this Christmas

Britain expected to remain largely dry this Christmas ,pa wire,

It’s a colder Christmas than recent years in the UK. But forecasters say the winter storm is likely to be confined to the south coast of England.

Met Office meteorologist Marco Petagna said: “By Christmas Day, (temperatures) will be no better than 5 to 7 degrees Celsius across the UK, so that’s quite a drop from what we’ve seen recently, and there’s a chill in that air too.”

“In the run-up to Christmas, we need to keep an eye on the far south of the UK, particularly the south coast of England. There’s just a chance we could see one or two cold waves develop.

“There’s only a 10 per cent chance of anything significant happening there, but we definitely need a layer of snow to fall somewhere across the UK for it to technically be called a ‘White Christmas’, so the far south of England has something to keep an eye on.”
