It’s that time of year again, when the shopping aisles are filled with families, crowded trolleys and children begging for chocolate, and Santa Claus lines the sweet aisles.

Most major supermarkets are closed on Christmas Day.

Here’s all the information you need about which supermarkets are open over the festive period (and when):

  • New Year’s Eve: 6am to 7pm (Express stores 7am to 10pm)
  • New Year’s Day: 9am to 6pm (8am to 10pm in express stores)

  • New Year’s Eve: 10 am to 7 pm (convenience store 6 am to 9 pm)

  • New Year’s Eve: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • New Year’s Day: Rest
