Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference (National Conference (NC) President Farooq Abdullah on Sunday welcomed the arrest by the NIA in a horrific attack in Pahgam on 22 April.
A total of 26 citizens, most of the tourists, were killed in a disgusting terrorist attack in Besaran Meadow of Pahgam Valley in Jammu and Kashmir. The National Investigation Agency said today that two people have been arrested to harass the terrorists.
Talking to ANI, Abdullah said, “Now we will find out who they were (terrorists) and where they came from. If they have caught them correctly, it is a great thing for us that we will slowly reach those people who carried out the Pahalgam attack …”
The NIA said that both the arrested accused, Parviz Ahmed Jothar from Bashir Ahmed Jothar of Hill Park in Pahgam, and Parviz Ahmed Joti of Hill Park in Pahgam have revealed the identity of the three armed terrorists involved in the attack, and they have also confirmed that they were ready for Pakistani National (Astricide Terrorist outfits).
The NIA, citing its investigation, said, “Parviz and Bashir had deliberately harassed three armed terrorists in a seasonal dhok (hut) in Hill Park before the attack.”
“Both people had provided food, shelter and logistic assistance to the terrorists, who selected tourists on the basis of their dreaded afternoon, on the basis of their religious identity, making it one of the most severe terrorist attacks.
“NIA, who arrested two accused under Section 19 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, is further investigating the case (RC -02/2025/NIA/JMU), April 22, 2025, after the world was registered after the attack. (ANI)
