Why Oms Sindoor was launched on 7 May, CDS Chauhan told students in Jharkhand

Ranchi, 18 September (IANS) chief Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Thursday interacted with the students of the school at Jharkhand Raj Bhavan, where he first revealed why Operation Sindoor and why were they selected to launch an accurate plan on 7 May.

General Chauhan said that between 1 pm and 1.30 pm on May 7, the decision to attack nine terrorist bases in Pakistan was taken after careful consideration.

He said, “Time was chosen time to harm the civic casualties and property, while the date was matched with a favorable weather conditions. The sky was clear, making it easy to hit our goals,” he said.

He described the operation as a will for the “unique capacity, acumen and coordination” of three services.

He said, “The Air Force achieved the exact target, and the weapons performed accurately. The Army and the Navy organized the positions from the land to the sea. The success was the result of the widespread preparation and deep understanding of the success distance, angle and science,” he said.

The CDS said Operation Sindoor employed a separate strategy compared to those used in Balkot and Uri strikes.

“This time, drone technology was also successfully used. Killing a target 120 km in Bahawalpur, Pakistan reflects technical and professional proficiency,” he said.

Importantly, he said that this time the armed forces collected concrete evidence of damage, taking photos and videos – something that could not be done during the Balkot operation.

Encouraging the youth to consider a military career, General Chauhan said that the armed forces “opportunity to serve the nation,” provide an opportunity to serve the nation, “provide unique experience with each wing – from global visits with the Navy, to fly at great heights with the Air Force, and learn to cross the most difficult challenge with the Army.

Drawing from his own journey, he chose Kolkata, Kolkata, and how he chose to join the army during his school years.

Emphasizing the value of teamwork, he said: “Emotional quotient (EQ) is more important than intelligence quotient (IQ) for success in the army. No achievement is possible without teamwork.”

General Chauhan also reminded the children that the trust and respect of the people for the army has stems from its “magnificent tradition and sacrifice” since 1947.

He urged children to contribute to India’s vision for 2047. “The responsibility of building a Vikasit India is not only with the government, but also with you. I believe the future of India is within you,” he said.

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth were present at the event.
