Why does Meghan Markle feel discriminated against in treatment compared to Prince Andrew?

Meghan Markle perceives unequal treatment compared to Prince Andrew, according to a royal expert, expressing surprise that she has not faced complete ostracism by the royal family despite the treatment she and Prince Harry received.

Despite tensions between the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the royal family stemming from their decision to step down as senior royals four years ago, they have maintained a strained relationship with the firm.

However, Prince Andrew remains a senior member of the royal family, despite facing allegations of sexual assault from Virginia Giuffre when he was 17, claims he strongly denies.

Although Andrew has stepped down from official royal engagements following the scandal, he still remains a part of the royal family.

Royal author Tom Quinn has suggested Meghan wants Andrew to be “pushed out” after his “appalling behaviour”.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror, Tom said: “The fact that Prince Andrew has not been fully ostracized is an even deeper source of grievance for Meghan – she has been ostracized so Andrew has Why not someone who has behaved appallingly?

“Meghan has a point but what she doesn’t see is that despite all his faults Andrew has at least done what the royal family told him to do: not say anything to Andrew after his humiliation And he’s not saying anything.”

Andrew was accused of having sex with Giuffre at the age of 17, who claimed that Andrew’s friend and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein had trafficked her and passed her on to his friends for sex. Andrew strongly denied the allegations.

In January 2022, when a New York judge ruled that the Queen’s son would face trial on the charges, Buckingham Palace issued a statement announcing that Andrew would be stripped of his royal titles.

A month later, he settled a civil sexual harassment case brought against him by Ms Guiffre in the US for £12 million. The agreement did not admit liability, guilt or wrongdoing on the part of Prince Andrew.

Meghan and Harry have fallen out with the royal family in recent years, with the couple making a number of sensational allegations against the firm. Over the years, Meghan has accused the Princess of Wales of making her cry days before her wedding and has said the royal family “silenced” her.

Harry has also targeted his brother Prince William and father King Charles. In his memoir, Spare, the Duke of Sussex revealed about an explosive row with his brother, during which the Prince of Wales reportedly called Meghan “difficult”, “rude” and “disrespectful”.

Harry claims his brother “grabbed me by the collar, tore my necklace off and he threw me on the floor”.
