India’s great batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who is currently on his first visit to Kashmir, enjoyed street cricket with the locals in Gulmarg. Tendulkar played an over amid the picturesque surroundings of Gulmarg. Tendulkar shared a video on social media enjoying a game of street cricket with locals. In the video, Tendulkar also clicked some photographs with the local people. Despite holding his bat upside down, he challenged the bowler to dismiss him on the last ball.

However, the bowler failed to dismiss Tendulkar, who defended the last ball with the handle of the bat.

On Wednesday, Tendulkar also visited the last point on the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir’s Uri sector – the Aman Setu bridge.

During his visit that lasted for about an hour, Tendulkar interacted with soldiers at the command post near Aman Setu, officials said.

Little Master played roadside cricket with some boys in Uri. The boys carefully observed Tendulkar’s footwork and how he played his shots.

Tendulkar has been on a tour of Kashmir with his wife Anjali and daughter Sara for the last few days. He visited a cricket bat manufacturing unit at Chursu on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway. He also visited Pahalgam tourist spot in South Kashmir.

The 50-year-old has a huge fan following across the world and is greeted with chants of ‘Sachin-Sachin’ wherever he goes.

In a video going viral on social media, Sachin was seen being encouraged by his co-passengers while clapping and chanting his name during the flight.

The cricket icon looked emotional at the appreciation he received and greeted other passengers on the flight with folded hands.

The chanting is common during most cricket matches in India and was a testament to his enduring popularity even after retirement.
