While on bail, Nuh violently accuses Bittu Bajrangi of assaulting man while police watch

A video of the incident went viral.

New Delhi:

Bittu Bajrangi, who was arrested last year during violence in Nuh, Haryana, is out on bail. He was caught on camera beating a man with a stick while others from his cow vigilante group restrained him. In the now-viral video, a police officer can be seen standing very close to the man but remaining a silent bystander.

The police have not yet filed a case.

Police officials said the video was shot on April 1 and the man who was beaten was a resident of Sarupur, Faridabad. The man, named Shamu, is accused of luring two girls from the neighborhood into his home by offering them chocolates, with local residents suspecting he intended to sexually abuse them. Some of his neighbors broke into the house and captured Shenmue.

After the news of the incident spread, members of Bajrangi’s cow vigilante Goraksha Bajrang Force reached the spot and took Shamu to their leader’s house in Sanjay Enclave, Faridabad. Video outside Bajrangi’s home showed the cow vigilante, who is also a Bajrang Dal member, holding a stick while others from his group dragged a pleading Shamu on the ground.

A police officer, who was sitting in a chair inches away from the man, stood up but made no intervention. A man can then be heard asking others to turn Shamu to his side while Bajrangi, also known as Raj Kumar, beat him with a stick at least four times. Police officials said the mother of one of the girls also hit Shamu with a stick before Bajrangi took action.

The head of Saran police station said: “We have seen the viral video and are looking for the man who was beaten. After receiving his complaint, we will take appropriate action. If we do not receive the complaint, we will take Appropriate action.” From him, we will use video and social media to trace the accused and take action against them. “

Communal violence broke out in Haryana’s Nuh district in July last year during a march organized by Vishwa, a Hindu missionary, and later spread to other districts, including Gurgaon and Badshapur. Five people died and at least 70 were injured. A mosque was also set on fire, and a cleric was among the dead.
