Korir’s win of 2:02.44 last year was the second fastest time in the history of the race, and the eighth fastest man in history. Boston Marathon The winner is hoping to do best this time with sub-2.01 – while simulating late Kelvin KiptumWho had set a world record of 2:00.35 in the same race in 2023.
A new champion will be crowned in the women’s race, with Ethiopia’s Valencia Marathon winner Megertu Alemu bidding to improve on her third-place finish in 2023, and compatriot and Frankfurt champion Hawi Feysa providing stiff competition on her debut.
British interests will be led by Kelly Hauger-Thackeray and Mark Scott, the second-fastest British marathon runner ever.
