WhatsApp update released for iOS users with green button and new icons

WhatsApp is rolling out a new update to all iOS users that adds minor interface changes and a new feature to its video calling functionality. The new update was released on Monday, and since it is a global stable version, it will be available to all iPhone users. Users can find the update in the App Store by searching for WhatsApp. The new update is adding extensively redesigned interface elements along with green buttons and interface design.

The new WhatsApp update for iOS brings the build version to 24.9.74. All supported iPhone models will be able to install it as soon as it becomes available. The update is sent in batches, so some users may get it after a delay of a few days. WhatsApp says that everyone will get the new features in the coming weeks.

Specifically, the update is adding green buttons and notification icons for all iOS users. The instant messaging platform first started using this feature last month. It was also rolled out to many Android users in the last few weeks. After the update, icons for new groups, contacts and communities will be shown in green along with the new message button. The number of unread messages appearing next to the unread message notification and chat list will also be shown in green. Green was already the default theme for night mode, although the color is brighter now. The color will also be visible to those using the app in Lite mode.

Additionally, the new WhatsApp update is also pushing newly redesigned icons across the app. These were also seen in the previous beta update and are now being rolled out to all users. With this interface redesign, the platform is now using consistent icons across its Android, iOS, and web interface.

Finally, the company is also adding audio support for the screen-sharing feature in video calls. Previously, when sharing your screen through the app, other participants would not be able to hear the audio played on the device and would instead only hear the external audio captured through the microphone. Now users will be able to listen to both audio channels simultaneously. This feature was also recently added to the Android platform of the app.
